International Beauty Union celebrates “Joy of Jouar” — An Evening of Art, Humanity and a New Meaning of Beauty

In an atmosphere that brought together art, generosity and patriotism, the town of Jouar El-Haouz hosted a remarkable humanitarian and recognition evening under the patronage of the International Beauty Union (IBU), in collaboration with a group of young men and women from the town known as “Joy of Jouar.”

The young volunteers worked tirelessly to identify families in need and help provide for their necessities as much as possible, transforming the initiative into a meaningful platform that also celebrated Lebanese figures who have made a lasting impact across the artistic, creative, social and humanitarian fields.

The event was hosted by Farah Amer, who opened the evening with a poetic welcoming address, alongside Samer Abou Anton, whose distinctive voice and stage presence added a special touch to the celebration.

Among the highlights of the evening was the screening of a moving video shedding light on individuals and families facing poverty and difficult living conditions. The film delivered a powerful message about social solidarity and the importance of supporting those most in need.

Through its President and General Director, Mr. Alaa Jaber, the International Beauty Union honored a distinguished group of Lebanese personalities under titles reflecting the values, achievements and impact represented by each honoree:

Beauty of Genuine Emotions: acclaimed actress Takla Chamoun.

Beauty of Vision: director and producer Kamil Tanios

Beauty of Creativity: artist Charles Khoury.

Beauty of Capturing the Moment: photographer Georges Chamoun.

Beauty of Initiative: artist Alaa Khazzam.

Beauty of Nobility: Mr. Georges Kettaneh, represented by Mr. Bahaa Seif El Din, Head of the Northern Mount Lebanon Region of the Lebanese Red Cross.

Beauty of Sacrifice: Brigadier General Imad Khreish – Lebanese Civil Defense.

Beauty of Humanitarian Service: Nisrine El Hosni – Red in Circle.

Beauty of Resilience and Restoration: Elie Lahoud – Youth Association for Combating Drugs.

Beauty of Transparency and Direct Impact: Hala Daher – LibanTROC.

Beauty of Talent: young social media influencer Raphael Assaad.

The evening also featured a surprise recognition of Elham Abou Jaoudeh Al-Hamouche, founder of the “Wajh Al-Hanan” Center for People of Determination and a prominent contributor to charitable and humanitarian initiatives. She was honored for her dedication and for insisting on attending and supporting the festival despite illness and fatigue.

In a deeply moving gesture of gratitude and remembrance, attendees observed a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of the Lebanese Red Cross and Lebanese Civil Defense. Both institutions were also honored in recognition of their sacrifices and their vital humanitarian and national roles.

The evening concluded with a musical performance by Alaa Khazzam, bringing joy and celebration to the audience following the event’s deeply emotional humanitarian moments.

Joy of Jouar” was far more than an artistic evening or an awards ceremony. It carried a humanitarian message reflecting the International Beauty Union’s belief that true beauty is not measured by appearance alone, but by the impact we leave behind — through art, generosity, sacrifice and service to others.
